  • Teams that applied to attend the Albuquerque Pathways meeting will be notified by April 20, 2012.
The NRC4Tribes, in collaboration with the federal Children’s Bureau, will hold two Pathways to Tribal Title IV-E meetings designed specifically for tribes who are actively planning to develop Title IV-E foster care services through direct access.
  1. Minneapolis, Minnesota
    May 810  2012
  2. Albuquerque, New Mexico
    May 1517, 2012

These working meetings will offer practical, hands-on information about day-to-day operations of a Title IV-E funded child welfare program. Presenters and facilitators will include federal Children’s Bureau staff along with National Resource Centers staff and consultants, including tribal peer trainers who have experience with Title IV-E programs.

    Team Development

Pathways to Tribal Title IV-E will be provided through a team approach. Travel, lodging and meals will be provided for all members of selected teams. Due to funding limitations the meetings are limited to ten (10) tribal teams at each meeting location. Each selected team must have 3-5 members, including persons in leadership and decision-making positions for the tribe’s child welfare system. Ideally, your team should include:

    1. Tribal child welfare director
    2. Tribal leader or administrator
    3. Tribal judge or other tribal court representative
    4. Finance/Contract/Administration representative
    5. Elder/Foster parent/community representative
